2024 Varieties
Last year, 2023, was our first year of selling ready-to-plant seedlings (we grew over 500 plants!) It was so successful we decided to offer them again this year. We have tomatoes, cucumbers, snap peas, zucchini, sweet and hot peppers, and eggplants. They will be ready for pickup from our Kitchener greenhouse starting May 20th (May long weekend). $3.00 each or 5 for $10.00.
** Please note the last day to order tomatoes, peppers and eggplant is March 20th and April 20th for cucumbers, zucchini and snap peas.

Tomatoes
Old GErman
Gorgeous beefsteak, slicer. Yellow with red stripes reminiscent of a sunset. Heirloom variety from the 1800s hailing from the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia.
Take me hooooome, country rooooads
Sioux
Early, multi-purpose tomato. Its thick skin makes it crack-resistant. Can be grown in a larger container, but will need staking.
Great White
Stunning white slicer tomato.
Big fruit and low acid. Smooth and delicious.
Will not bite back
Chocolate Stripes
Incredible flavour in this slicer. Deep red brown colour and green stripes. Produces well into autumn.
Wonka might like this one - it does have chocolate in the name?
Early Siberian
Classic tomato in looks and flavour. Grows in clusters of 3-5. Fleshy and juicy slicer. One of the hardiest, and early maturing varieties. Your go-to if you don’t want a fun variety.
Russians don’t joke around when it comes to tomatoes.
Garden Peach
This tomato actually looks and feels like a peach. Juicy, and a great slicer, the skin has a bit of fuzz and a slight pink hue.

Japanese Black Trifele
Beautiful, dark, pear shaped fruit. Unlike the name, it originates from Russia. One of the darkest black tomato varieties. Slicer with crack resistant skin.

Alice’s Dream
Two-toned yellow flesh with red veins. Shoulders are indigo blue. Mild flavour with hint of lemon.

Rebel Starfighter Prime
Calling all Star Wars Fans! One of 6 (for now) Starfighter tomatoes. This tomato has been recently developed for a “Star Wars Tomato Project” by American breeder Russ Crowe.
Purple, heart shaped with purple/black shoulders, rich flavour.

Sweet Million
Easy to grow, hardy plants. These plants mature early and deliver yields of cherry tomatoes all season long. If you just want one plant- this is the one.
Million might be an overstatement, maybe hundreds.
Farthest North
One of the first tomatoes to be ready in your garden. Allegedly resistant to Bacterial Speck. Perfect for container growing.

Gold Nugget
Cute, yellow fruit with a sweet and flavourful taste. Perfect for container planting as they are a bush variety.
Will not break your teeth unlike a real gold nugget.
Pink Bumblebee
Pink cherry tomatoes with gold stripes. Crack resistant with a firm texture. Super juicy and so flavourful you wont be able to stop snacking on them!

Recent and rare variety! Bright yellow with marbled blue shoulders. Sweet flavour with citrus aroma. Perfect for snacking.

Very juicy and has a great balanced flavour. Perfect for growing in containers.

San MArzano
Classic paste tomato. Some believe it to be THE tomato for sauces. Will need staking and support. Great flavour, low juicy- delicious!

Roma
Another classic paste tomato. Dependable, productive and easy to grow. Disease resistant. Perfect for container gardening on a balcony or patio.

Mercury
Flavourful, productive, slicer cucumber. Long with thin, shiny, dark skins. Can be used for pickling when immature.
Neither a singer, nor a planet I’m afraid. Just a cuke.

Crisp, and highly disease-resistant, grows well in the heat of summer. Productive plant, if you want lots of cucumbers, this is your guy.

Diamond
Early maturing, dark purple, slender eggplant. Adapted to the cold climate, it’s perfect for shorter seasons and cool summers. Container friendly.

Just like the name suggests this is a phantom eggplant! Plants are compact and produce many white fruits. Mushroom-like flavour. Container gardens need this variety.

Purple and white fruits. Skin is thin and flesh is tender. Its small size makes it perfect for small-portion meals. Perfect for container gardens!

ZUCCHINI
Black Beauty
Dark green, almost black fruit. Fast-growing and prolific. Young fruit are tender and seedless until about 10in. long.
Not a horse, don’t worry.
Cocozelle
Traditional Italian variety. Gorgeous striped skin. Bushy, perfect for smaller spaces, could work well in a larger container.

Goldy
Yellow, tender, delicious fruit. Fairly small plant, good for a smaller garden with limited space. Plant flowers around to attract pollinators.
