Who We Are

In 2023, Backyard Seedlings started as a ready-to-plant seedling company (a backyard nursery if you will). We grew over 500 plants for our clients! Our main goal here is to allow everyone the freedom to grow their own food (whilst attracting more pollinators into our surroundings). We want to share our love of gardening with others.

We believe in creating a more sustainable earth for everyone and encourage everyone to add a little greenery and yumminess to their lives. We are more than happy to answer any questions.

Meet the Team

    When not in the garden, I love cooking, baking, reading, and birdwatching

For as long as I can remember, my summers were spent helping my mom in the garden (she would probably say otherwise). I would get so excited when the May long weekend rolled around and we piled into the van to go pick out seedlings at the local greenhouse. There is something so satisfying about going out into the garden and picking vegetables that you grew by yourself.

I hold a diploma in Biotechnology from Conestoga College and a degree in Environmental Management from the University of Guelph. I worked at an environmental lab in the microbiology department, testing water and soil for bacterial contaminants before having my 2 little boys. Even as a stay-at-home mom,  I'm constantly learning and experimenting with different plants in my own garden.
